Implementation of Documentolog EDS at JSC

JSC "Kaskor Transservice" is one of the largest railway enterprises in Western Kazakhstan, serving over a thousand shippers and consignees daily. The main activities of JSC "Kaskor Transservice" include:

• transportation of goods by rail on its own railway tracks for enterprises and organizations in the city of Aktau, as well as
• transportation of transit cargo passing through the Aktau International Sea Trade Port;
• repair and construction of railway tracks;
• repair and maintenance of rolling stock.

Serving such a wide customer base involves daily processing of a huge amount of incoming, outgoing, and internal correspondence. In 2009, the volume of document flow at JSC "Kaskor Transservice" reached a critical level, which in turn led to difficulties in the workflow such as:

• loss, damage, and confusion of accompanying and accounting documentation for cargo (invoices, customs declarations, etc.), which created delays on transport lines and slowed down the delivery of goods to their destination;
• finding the necessary documents for current requests took a lot of time, as all of them were stored in paper form, and there was no unified electronic repository of corporate information in the company;
• business processes within the company were not optimized; there was no effective system for routing and distributing documents to the necessary employees in the organization, which also led to significant time losses;
